Help Us Support ORAL IV Team member Anthony Birchak
Anthony Birchak
Anthony is a Professional Fighter (11-1) and current Bantam Weight Champion for the Maximum Fighting Championship. Anthony was injured during training for his title fight that was to take place on May 9, 2014 in Canada. As Anthony is professional athlete, he does not have the benefit of a group insurance plan. The only medical coverage provided by the MFC is limited to the night of the event. Because of his injury, Anthony is unable to fight and has had to withdraw from competition. Anthony is the sole breadwinner for his family of 4 children – two girls ages 15 and 10, and two boys ages 6 and 7 months. This injury creates hardship for all of them with the absence of income and the addition of medical bills. Anthony has already incurred fairly large medical bills in the initial emergency room visit and x-rays. Because of the severity of the injury, it has been necessary to involve a specialist and an MRI has been ordered. Before Anthony can get back into peak performance and into the ring, surgery and rehab will be required. This necessary surgery will enable him to continue to be a leader in his field and in the life of his children. When not training for a fight, Anthony trains and educates other fighters of all ages and from all walks of life, including his girlfriend and manager, Mercedes White. Their lives revolve entirely around their family - both their children and their fight family. They do everything they can to support their communities and are both devastated at the recent turn of events.
